Tears of the Kingdom Buff Ganondorf

Nintendo gave us one last look at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ahead of its May 12 release on Nintendo Switch. We saw more options for Link to get around, new combat mechanics that allow him to fight on horseback, and more mysteries that left me just as speechless as Hero of Time. We also got our first real look at Ganondorf, the main antagonist of the series, though it was just a floating part of his head yelling at the camera. However, after the release of the trailer, Nintendo dropped some Demon King artwork and, as you can probably imagine, people are down a lot bad.

The tears of the kingdom (TotK) is the sequel to the 2017 Nintendo Switch exclusive game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Featuring many of the same mechanics as its predecessor, along with a few exciting new additions such as the summon ability that alters an object’s movement, TotK is the handheld hybrid’s most anticipated game so far this year. While information about the game has been largely scarce since its announcement in 2019, producer Eiji Aonuma has I put TotK on display with about 10 minutes of play last March. It was all to build hype for one of the most hyped Switch games to date, but no one was prepared for how hot Ganondorf was going to be in the game’s next trailer. Now we know the tea and people are looking for it.

“Rehydrated Ganon” has gamers begging for hydration

All over the internet, from TikTok to reddit to Twitter, are people thirsty for this expanded iteration of Ganondorf. There’s a good reason too! With his chiseled jaw, bulging chest and massive muscles, Ganondorf recently entered the gym, breaks his summer body in preparation for the warmer weather. One Twitter user simply said “Power” to the artwork posted on Twitter by Nintendo UK. A Redditor in a popular post on r/Breath_of_the_Wild said that they are “looking forward to some Ganondorf Rule 34 Art“, a reference to the concept of the Internet claiming that everything will be horrified at some point. Someone on TikTok said Ganondorf was “hot again” after seeing this new piece of art. Meanwhile, a handful of people on the Internet are sharing the same meme: Squidward Tentacles by Sponge Bob saying “oh no it’s hot.”

"Rehydrated Ganondorf" appears in Tears of the Kingdom, complete with a large blade and even larger muscles.

It’s surprising that people are so willing The tears of the kingdomGanondorf, especially considering he never assumed his human form Breath of the wild. But there’s another layer here that adds credibility to the newfound lust for the Prince of Darkness, and it’s all thanks to “Rehydrated Ganondorf” meme. See when The tears of the kingdom was first announced the reveal trailer did not make it clear if the Dark Lord will return in the sequel, especially after the events of the previous game. There was some sort of Lich King-like enemy, but he didn’t seem fully alive. However, in June 2019, an artist named furanchu drew what they called “Rehydrated Ganondorf,” a fleshed-out reimagining of the Lich King-like foe from the 2019 reveal trailer. Thus, “Rehydrated Ganondorf” was born, and this interpretation is what people have decided to call the latest iteration of the Great King of Evil.

I get it: Ganondorf doesn’t just kill houseboots. The man gives DILF energy with his new look. This time he’s thinking about work and I’m worried that our little relationship might be crushed between the tree trunks for weapons. However, this is the Hero of Time. If he could survive The terminal in Majora’s Mask, I’m sure he will kill the Gerudo King. I just hope we get to see a bit of “Rehydrated Ganondorf” before Link brings him back down to earth.
