The Atlantis movie is being developed by Skydance, Colin Trevorrow – The Hollywood Reporter

jurassic world director Colin Trevorrow teams up with Charmaine De Grate, writer and co-executive producer for HBO The house of the dragonto take a trip to Atlantis for Skydance.

Skydance has inked a deal with Trevorrow to direct and produce a feature film titled Atlantiswith DeGraté on board to write the screenplay.

Trevorrow will produce through his Metronome film company alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger for Skydance.

Atlantis it was previously in development at Universal, with Trevorrow directing and developing. Universal returned the project to Trevorrow, and Skydance jumped at the opportunity to acquire the feature. The previous draft of the script developed at Universal was written by Dante Harper, who worked on 2017. The Alien: Covenant.

DeGraté and Trevorrow reimagined the project, though it still remains a fantasy adventure based on a legendary advanced civilization that sank and was then lost to the elements, the ancient gods, or the hubris of man.

DeGraté established herself as one of the city’s up-and-coming writers thanks to her buzzy television work. She was the writer and co-executive producer of The house of the dragonwhich comes after winning the Golden Globe for Best TV Series, Drama, and she co-executive produced Amazon’s upcoming drama about rock bands, Daisy Jones and the Six, which stars Riley Keough and debuted in March. She also wrote and co-executive produced the upcoming star Wars series created by Leslye Headland, The Acolyte. This is her first feature film project.

Trevorrow directed last year’s Dominion Jurassic Worldthe third part of jurassic world franchise. The film grossed over $1 billion. It also manages the first installment, jurassic worldwhich reboots the dinosaur monster movie series for the 21st centurySt century in 2015
